Welcome to the GE Anesthesia Learning Passport

In the following course, we will explain Anesthesia Delivery at GE Healthcare. We will look at some of the specific innovative solutions that we offer within the field, and how they benefit both clinicians and patients.

End Tidal Control Simulator

Here’s a simulation of how to operate the End Tidal Control feature. Keep in mind that the set concentrations are provided for illustration purposes only and may not be clinically appropriate for all patients.

Let’s assume that Amy has a patient under anesthesia. Based on her patient’s condition and anesthesia requirements, she determines that the patient needs to receive an end tidal sevoflurane concentration (EtAA) of 2.1% and an end-tidal oxygen (EtO2) concentration of 40%.

Click Start to see how it works, and then each pop-up to move onto the next step.

Click each pop-up to continue.

Select the desired EtAA concentration

Set the desired Et02 concentration

You can see from here, the Aisys automatically adjusts the flows and vaporiser output so that the patient receives the target concentrations in a short time

Once the measured concentrations begin approaching the set targets, the fresh gas flow and vaporiser output start decreasing

Now check the same set of figures again. Once targets are reached, the fresh gas flow automatically decreases to the set minimum flow and vaporiser output automatically decreases to maintain the target end tidal oxygen and agent concentrations.

Well done!

You’re now familiar with how the End Tidal Control feature works.

Congratulations!
