We take the view that every ton counts and, to achieve our Scope 1 & 2 goal, we have focused our operational strategy around these pillars.

Facility emissions reduction

Identify opportunities to reduce direct emissions and improve energy efficiency while building processes that enable continuous improvement.

Fleet emissions reductions

Implement smart scheduling and remote problem-solving to reduce vehicle mileage due to activities performed at customer sites; continue to transition some of our fleet to electric vehicles.

Renewable energy

Increase the proportion of renewable energy we buy and increase our investment in local renewable energy generation.

Scope 3 approach

We are focused on four categories to drive our Scope 3 emissions reductions.

Use of sold products: Improving the energy efficiency of our equipment, transitioning to anesthetic gases with lower global warming potential, and educating customers about the optimal use of the equipment.

Upstream transportation: Using lower-carbon transportation modes when practical, such as replacing short-haul flights with road transport, transitioning air freight to ocean, and looking for opportunities to load-share and source materials more locally.

Purchased goods and services: Collaborating with 70% of our largest suppliers by spend through the EcoVadis platform to reduce GHG emissions across our supply chain.

Business travel: Examining alternatives to short-haul business class flights, assessing more direct options to long-haul routes, and improving education and awareness.
